‘We Met in Paros’ is not just a painting; it is a memory, as vivid as the colors on the canvas, yet as elusive as the island breeze. This tranquil scene unfolds on the Greek island of Paros. A white concrete villa, its walls kissed by the afternoon light, stands with bougainvillea cascading down its rugged walls in peachy pink tones. Some petals, delicate and light, have drifted down to rest gently on the floor. In the foreground, a basket of figs sits, its woven sides weathered by the hands that crafted it. A few figs have tumbled out, their dark, rich hues contrasting with the soft pastel tones of the fallen petals. The painting captures a fleeting moment of peace, a silent afternoon on this ancient Island.
